The Dixie State University baseball team completed the series sweep against the Cal State University of San Bernardino Sunday afternoon by a final score of 10-2.

DSU entered the game having accumulated 27 runs and 39 hits in the first three games of the series against the Coyotes. The offensive prowess continued Sunday as the Storm totaled 10 runs on 11 hits.

Senior pitcher Chance Abrath allowed his only run scored in the first inning as he totaled five complete innings of work, giving up just four hits and one walk. He also struck out seven Coyote batters.

The Storm pushed across three runs in the bottom of the third inning, which started with a single by redshirt junior infielder Drew McLaughlin. McLaughlin also singled in a run in the fifth inning before finishing 3-5 with 3 RBIs.

Redshirt senior Tanner Morache also had three hits in the affair while driving home one RBI and stealing two bases.  Morache has had at least one hit in each of the four games to start the season.

Junior outfielder Miles Bice’s pinch-hit double in the eighth inning started a DSU rally that pushed home six total runs capped off by redshirt senior Sam Hall’s single, which scored redshirt junior outfielder Trey Kamachi. DSU shut the door with a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the ninth to secure the victory and the series sweep 10-2.

DSU will play two games Friday against Northwest Nazarene University and Montana State University Billings. It will also play NNU Saturday before a rematch with MSUB Sunday. All games will be played at Bruce Hurst Field.
